About Enviro-Chem Consulting Group

An independent environmental testing consultancy serving Ventura County and Los Angeles County. We test buildings for asbestos, lead and mold. We do not remediate them.

Who we are

Testing is the whole job, not the sales pitch.

Most companies that test for asbestos, lead or mold also sell the cleanup. Enviro-Chem does not. We collect the samples, send them to an accredited laboratory, and hand you a report that stands on its own.

That distinction matters most when money is on the line. Contractors need a defensible survey before demolition starts. Property managers and HOA boards need documentation that will hold up with owners, insurers and counsel. Homeowners need a straight answer about whether the thing in the attic is a problem.

The practice is led by Russell Meiselman, who brings over twelve years of field experience across residential, commercial and industrial sites. The office is in Thousand Oaks, which sits on the Ventura and Los Angeles County line, and the work runs from single-family homes in Ojai to refinery scaffolding on the Oxnard Plain.

How we work

Four commitments.

No conflict of interest

We do not sell remediation, so there is no incentive to find a problem that is not there. Insurers, attorneys and buyers understand the difference.

Speed that protects schedules

Same-day site visits are often available and most results land the next business day. A stalled demolition costs more than the testing did.

Reports people can act on

Sample locations, results, and plain-language recommendations. Not a lab printout with a cover page stapled to it.

Common questions

About the practice.

Why does it matter that you do not do remediation?

Because it removes the incentive that makes most environmental reports arguable. A company that tests and also sells the cleanup profits from finding a problem. We only sell the testing, so the result is the result. That independence is what makes our reports useful to carriers, attorneys and boards.

Who do you usually work for?

Homeowners, general contractors, property managers, HOA boards and project managers, roughly in that order by volume. Residential water losses and pre-renovation surveys make up most of the work, alongside commercial tenant improvements and industrial sites.

How quickly can you get out?

Same-day site visits are often available in the Conejo Valley, where the office is. Standard laboratory turnaround is the next business day, and rush analysis can be arranged when a demolition date or a closing is at risk.

Do you work in Los Angeles County too?

Yes. Ventura County is home base, but a good share of the work is across the county line in Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Calabasas and the wider West Valley. The regulatory framework changes at that line, and we track which one applies to your address.
